Farmers Inn Bed and Breakfast
for Atmosphere, Relaxation & History
Welcome to the Farmers Inn Bed and Breakfast
History
The original Farmers Inn Hotel was built in 1874 and was one of at least 4 Hotels in the town. It burnt down sometime after 1898 and in 1902 the present building was erected on the same site, trading as the Commercial Hotel until 1969. Subsequently the property passed into private hands and was used as a family home till late 2006 when it was purchased by the current owners.
Over the next 18 months an extensive and sympathetic renovation was undertaken to restore the building to its former glory and original floor plan. With 3.6m (12 foot) pressed metal ceilings, Baltic pine floors and Baltic pine lining boards the buildings past is now on show for all to see.
Your Hosts
Your hosts are Peter and Merilyn Cook, formerly of Geelong. After 3 years holidaying at their cottage in Macarthur they were looking for an opportunity to move to Macarthur permanently for a change of life style . The purchase of the old hotel enabled them to not only make that dream a reality but also to contribute to the future of Macarthur.
